Fabric Repairs to Bathgate and Whitburn Academies

Bathgate Academy

The works comprised a series of miscellaneous fabric repairs to the elevations of the main school buildings. Bathgate was particularly difficult due to the internal courtyard and high-level blocks. Most of the works had to be complete using spider MEWPS. The works included:

• Concrete and render repairs
• Movement joint replacement
• Overhauling of existing timber and metal door sets
• Full specialist clean of the school in its entirety
• Full redecoration of the school in its entirety using specialist MEWPS
• Replacement cast downpipes
• General drainage repairs
• Curtain walling repairs
• New roller shutter installations
• New plant room louvre installations
• New external door kit replacement

Whitburn Academy

The works comprised a series of miscellaneous fabric repairs to the elevations of the main school buildings. The works included:

• Full specialist clean of the school in its entirety
• Removal and replacement of the existing timber facia to most of the school blocks to be replaced with new HPL panels
• Wearing course replacement to the car parks (approx 1000m²)
• General redecorations of the concrete and metalwork to the full school
• Gutter and downpipe repairs where necessary to the full school
• Brickwork indents across the full school (approx 2500)
• Raking out and replacement of defective pointing
• Movement joint replacement
• Overhauling all the existing external door sets
• General repairs to the external walkways and slabs
